Petition to keep Women´s Ministry in Turkey

An online-petition to stop the annulment of  the Turkish Women´s Ministry is spread by the Association for Women’s Rights in Development and created by and written by Equality Mechanisms Platform in Turkey.  According to them,  the Ministry is existing since 1991 as a Women´s entity but it seems, that the government now is preparing to merge it into  “Family and Social Services Ministry”. This does not only mean to annul the “State Ministry responsible for Women, Family and Social Services”. This would mean that gender equality disappears from the visual political agenda and women once again are seen in family contexts only.
