Intimate partner violence: already six femicides in Spain this year

Since beginning  of 2012 we grieve already about 12 femicides due to gender-based violence in Spain.  last year  62 women have been killed by their partners or ex-partners,  71 femicides have been counted in 2010. The good news is, that in 2010 also the punishment of perpetrators in Spain raised, out of 10.500 persons going to prison for the first time 10% have been related to gender-based violence – which is in total rank three of reasons for men going to jail. Killing the partner or former partner has an average criminal charge of 18 years in prison. It is quite a fact, that men in Spain have to learn the impunity for violence against women belongs to the past now!
